China Seeks Tech Collaboration to Enhance Growing Ties With India

In a significant diplomatic meeting, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of bolstering cooperation between China and India, urging both nations to maintain the positive trajectory in their bilateral relations. This discussion took place with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, highlighting the mutual desire to enhance ties.

Wang Yi underscored the need for both countries to increase high-level exchanges and broaden collaboration in various sectors, including trade, media, culture, and people-to-people interactions. He advocated for addressing sensitive issues through dialogue and called for stronger coordination in regional and international affairs. Wang Yi highlighted the potential for China and India to jointly promote multipolarity and advocate for the interests of developing nations.

During the meeting, Wang reiterated China’s support for India as it hosts this year’s BRICS summit, emphasizing the importance of collaboration within the expanded BRICS framework. This endorsement reflects China’s commitment to strengthening multilateral cooperation with India and other member countries in this significant international organization.

On his part, Jaishankar expressed India’s dedication to fostering a constructive and cooperative relationship with China. He reaffirmed India’s consistent stance on sensitive issues concerning Taiwan and Xizang (Tibet), emphasizing respect for China’s sovereignty.
