Netanyahu’s Vow: ‘Whoever Attacks Us, We Will Attack Him’ – A Policy in Action

by admin477351

“Whoever attacks us, we will attack him.” This simple but stark vow from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not just rhetoric; it is a core policy that was put into dramatic action with the Israeli airstrikes on Yemen. The raid on Sanaa was a direct and literal application of this principle.
The policy was triggered when the Houthis launched a ballistic missile towards Israel. In Netanyahu’s framework, this act demanded an immediate and forceful counter-attack. The subsequent bombing of Houthi targets was the logical and inevitable outcome of this declared security doctrine.
Netanyahu further expanded the policy to include pre-emption: “Whoever plans to attack us, we attack him.” This suggests an even more aggressive posture for the future, where Israel will not wait for a missile to be in the air before responding.
The six dead and 86 wounded in Sanaa are the first major casualties under this explicitly re-stated doctrine in the Yemeni context. The world has now seen a clear example of what Netanyahu’s promise means in practice: swift, destructive, and lethal force.
