The gathering in New Delhi includes prominent leaders such as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, alongside other BRICS members. The meeting occurs against the backdrop of several global tensions, including the Iran-US conflict, the Russia-Ukraine war, and ongoing strains between the United States and China.
Xi’s participation in the summit marks his first visit to India since 2019, signaling efforts by Beijing and New Delhi to enhance bilateral relations following a period of discord. During the summit, Xi and Modi are also expected to engage in bilateral discussions to further these efforts.
